WOW!~ it’s been crazy long since we’ve posted, but to tell the truth, it’s tough to find places with free (key word—diddy’s a cheap-skate) wi fi to upload photos.

We’ve now been on the road for a week. We’re very proud of ourselves for not being too demanding-well, except for chance—he is sooo spoiled and is very demanding, indeed. But anyway, me, i’m fine with taking a morning hike with everybody and then going to lay down on mommy’s bed to nap most of the day. Being older, I really don’t need all that silly stimulation like the other 2. for example, on the first day, chance jumped out of the car window (it was parked) and ran off chasing a chipmunk! It was so fun to watch mommy and diddy running and yelling at him! Hahhaahhaha!

After that was oklahoma, which was much prettier than we thought it would be, with rolling hills and tons of lakes. We camped on one, and got to swim with mommy and diddy to cool off from the 97 degree heat.

New Mexico was very, very dry- and hot. Very, very hot. In fact, there have been fires all over the state, but we never smelled any smoke, and I have an excellent sniffer, so I knew we were safe! There were wind gusts of about 30mph, with steady daily winds of 20, and it blew dust all over us all the time. But the scenery was really beautiful, and we took a 7-mile hike near Cimmaron Canyon and saw lots of waterfalls.

Now we’re just outside of Durango, Co., at a beautiful lake called Lake Haviland. Mommy found a beautiful campsite, and said since we were camping near a lake, we didn’t need running water. I tried to tell her, but she didn’t get my message. Anyway, when she asked the park ranger about swimming, she was told it is really cold, and there are leeches. So the nice park ranger-Susan-offered mommy her solar shower (mommy didn’t smell too good after 5 days of no shower!!) now mommy and diddy both are clean and happy.
