El Gato is an Antares 44i catamaran. She is the perfect liveaboard for our little family (Jeff, me, and our 2 dogs). The helm is completely protected. The galley is a kitchen with lots of storage, big fridge and freezer.
El Gato has 2 fully private queen berths and another queen that we use as a “garage”. We love the finely hand-finished woodwork throughout the interior. Corners are rounded (fewer bruises).
Antares is a well-built and thought out boat. We knew as soon as we saw her that we were meant to be together.
i just read your blog for the first time, and want to congratulate you on your new boat. It’s a real beauty! I thought it might’ve been a Pacific Seacraft, but then I’m not really much of a boat expert.
Thanks for posting the renaming ceremony details. I’ve read several different versions, one of which includes sacrificing virgins, but was unable to locate any that were willing to participate. 🙂
My boat has had at least two names in the past, one of which was only legible through very close scrutiny of the transom and even closer scrutiny on the port and starboard sides of the hull, where one of the old names once appeared. I purchased new name graphics just after launching this season, but decided to wait until next year to apply them. In the meantime, I’m slowly removing all other signs of the last (I think!) name from the boat as the season comes to a close.

Hi, Jules & Jeff! Hope you got out of the fog unscathed! We headed for Marshall Island for a little swim (the fog had lifted just a bit) and then into Stonington for about an hour – just enough time to gather the colors of Jill Hoys fabulous paintings….and then wound up in Castine for the night. We found a magnificent tidal pool in Smith’s Cove and went for a quick swim before having some oysters at Dennett’s. Hope you make it to Robinhood – would love to hear more about your adventures! (Beautiful photos…btw…)

Chata is still not home. Chata is an 11 year old black shar pei. She has long legs, short hair and bad anxiety. Several people say they have seen her. When I see the picture it looks nothing like a shar pei. They have long ears and noses. Chata does not have a long pointed nose or big ears. She has a flat nose, hence Chata. But it is nothing like a pug. Some shar pei are shorter and stocky. Chata is the taller thinner type but still looks very much like a shar pei with little folded over ears. I am very sad and stressed as is my other dog. Chata means the world to me and I am worried about her. I need her home. Some weeks ago I raised the reward to 5000p PLEASE GET HER HOME AND IN RETURN YOU WILL RECEIVE A 5000 PESO REWARD, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Cuando veo la foto no se parece en nada a un shar pei. Tienen orejas y narices largas. Chata no tiene una nariz larga y puntiaguda ni orejas grandes. Tiene la nariz chata, de ahí Chata. Pero no se parece en nada a un pug. Algunos shar pei son más bajos y rechonchos. Chata es del tipo más alto y delgado, pero todavía se parece mucho a un shar pei con pequeñas orejas dobladas. Estoy muy triste y estresada al igual que mi otro perro. Chata significa mucho para mí y estoy preocupada por ella. La necesito en casa. Hace unas semanas subí la recompensa a 5000peso.
